According to Ayurveda, our natural state is not of being stressed, trying hard and suffering. It is to be happy, healthy and of the highest consciousness. Great, right?
In our bodies, there are three biological energies: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, all derived from the five elements fire, water, earth, space and air. According to Ayurvedic principles, once knowing your dominant dosha(s), you can live aligned with it and thus enhance your health.
The dominant one(s), however, define our Dosha type. embodying the elements of water and earth. Persons who are dominating in Kapha are famous for their endurance, their calmness, have represents the elements of space and air. Typical Vata types are fast-moving, thin, quick-thinking and sensitive when it comes to digestion. reflects fire and water. These personalities usually are characterized by quite some temperament, medium builds, strong intellect, loads of energy and good appetites. And then there is a solid build and regular digestion.
Once you know your dominant and secondary dosha, you can easily learn how to balance them with the right nutrition and a corresponding lifestyle.
If, for example, you are predominantly Pitta, you can focus on consuming more cooling meals, which have a calming effect on you. Whereas, if you are Vata, warm dishes are more nurturing and balancing than cold ones. Kapha types prefer light and warm meals to function best.
